EMPLOYMENT Executive Director for Mission and Ethos – Mercycare West Perth WA

MercyCare is a leading Catholic provider of aged care, early learning, disability and family and community services. We have a large and diverse workforce delivering programs and services throughout Western Australia. This specialist, vital and impactful executive leadership opportunity has arisen in our mission-based organisation.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this key executive leadership position provides essential guidance and maintains oversight across the organisation for MercyCare’s mission direction and ethos, in the Mercy tradition.
This is a specialist leadership role and your values, experience, Catholic-Christian tradition knowledge, spirituality and professional maturity and influence will form the basis of your success. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for, proactively contributing to and embedding the MercyCare mission direction and implementation across the life of the organisation. Evolving mission ethos development and alignment, embedding the core values and the Mercy tradition. Influencing strategic and cultural change initiatives with an ethical behavioural perspective.
Providing advice and support on a wide range of mission and ethos matters. Assisting in the design and delivery of important organisational workshops, rituals and celebrations. Overseeing the development and operation of the pastoral care services model. Sponsoring, contributing to and/or leading MercyCare’s Aboriginal reconciliation and cultural alignment journey (including RAP), environmental impact plan, MercyCare heritage matters and the ongoing translation of the living Mercy tradition. Engaging with and building pivotal relationships with all levels of MercyCare governance and across the organisation.
Representing Mercycare externally and building networks and advocacy. We are seeking a demonstrated competency and confidence to offer lay leadership in a Catholic organisation within the 21st century. Demonstrated highly developed influencing skills with an ability to contribute strongly to organisational cultural development and mission ethos. Demonstrated successful executive experience, preferably in the community and/or human services sector. Experience leading in a complex organisational environment. Demonstrated social justice values, race and diversity awareness, ecological awareness and spiritual values. A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
Possess relevant tertiary qualifications. National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months).
